ALEXONE'S SHOW IN GRENOBLE

Alexone, our main man in France, just unveiled a really awesome concept for his new show, "En Tiers".

He outlined his process for us and sent a bunch of great pictures by Jerome Vallin our way. Check it out:

"step 1 : paste white paper on wall
step 2 : to paint on a wallpaper
step 3 : cut the paper
step 4 : to make frames with the papers
step 5 : paint the wall for make a nice background"

If you're going to be in France between now and December, you need to check this show out.

NUART 07

Bummed out that you can't make it to Stavenger, Norway to watch all your favorite artists leave their mark on the city? Hey, you're not alone. But lucky for all us non artist non jet setters, the festival's organizers posted a great set of timelapse videos of what's gone down so far.

For continuous pictures of the event, check out the Nuart flickr stream or the official festival website at www.nuart.no. This is the beautiful kind of stuff that can only happen when you let artists run wild in your city.

COMPUTER PROBLEMS

So when I tried to boot up my computer this morning... I couldn't. Hopefully everything will be up and running soon. In the mean time, check out Graffiti Archaeology-- watch the battle between art and the buff unfold over the course of multiple years.

Peace.

ELPH x OVERSPRAY

Here's something to scratch that itch we all have for really cool stuff that nobody else owns-- hyper-limited, hand screened, hand numbered Overspray t-shirts designed by ELPH. There are only 25 of these things left on the planet and no two are alike. If you were at our Issue 6 release party, you already saw a few of these beauties first-hand. We have large and extra-large, printed on American Apparel t-shirts. Check out a few:

Every shirt is a unique and individual snowflake, and once these 25 are gone, that's it. No more. I can't see these beauties sticking around for too long, so if you're interested, get on it.

$30 each.
+ $5 shipping in the US
+ $10 shipping anywhere else
all prices are us.

Send payment via PayPal to overspraymag@yahoo.com, and let us know what size you need. There are only a few of these things left, so don't wait too long.

For more art by ELPH check out his website at http://www.akaelph.com/

VISITING TOWER IN BERLIN

We checked in on our friend TOWER in Berlin a little while ago- dude has been busy to say the least. We got to check out a bunch of his personal sketches and his studio-- but we also got some great flicks of his work in its natural urban habitat. Check it out.

Also, be on the look out for our next issue, because Tower's going to be featured in it.

CHECKING IN WITH FAILE

Even though we've been in California mode for a while, there's no denying that a ton of awesome work goes down on our home turf, and a lot of people would probably give up their front teeth for a scene this exciting in their home cities. A little while back we visited FAILE's studio in Williamsburg to see what they'd been working on.

The office was like an exhibit of everything FAILE has ever done, from giant canvases to tiny little wheat pastes and brand new stencils.

Of course FAILE has their neighborhood covered. Not that we'd expect any less. Then again, there's no way of knowing if these posters are still running now. To see more from FAILE, or order some of their merchandise, visit www.faile.net.

ISSUE 6 RELEASE PARTY WAS SICK

Huge thanks to the bazillion people who turned out for our painting battles at Hope Lounge on Thursday. It seemed like everyone was having a pretty great time.

The battles were intense. Since issue 6 is the California issue, we picked a different California-related theme for every round. Round 1 was Adam Carnes vs. Charm in a battle themed around 'gridlock', and round 2 was Leif McIlwayne vs. Scott Ferguson painting their impressions of Alcatraz. After our crowd decided on the winners, the main event pitted Charm against Leif in an L.A. riot themed battle for the grand prize and their choice of any canvas from the nights' battle.

Free hot dogs-- excellent warm-up for free vodka.

Don't they all look anxious to find out the results?

Io, displaying Leif's winning piece. Congrats, dude!

Leif was the overall winner, earning the privelege of buying an open bar for 350 howling onlookers-- but nobody walked away empty-handed. Huge thanks to Sabatoz paint, Itsasickness, Ambiguous Clothing and every single one of the individuals who made the party go off. It couldn't have happened without you, guys.

GETTING PSYCHED

The Issue 6 launch party is tomorrow. We've been running around like crazy to get ready for it-- so you better show up (yeah, you).

Hyper-Limited edition of 35 hand-screened Overspray shirts, printed on soft and snuggly American Apparel tees.

Paint donated by Logan Hicks for Sabotaz Paint, going out to the winners of our live painting battles. He says they're better than Montana (keep it on the DL).

These gift bags are going out to the first 50 of you who RSVP'ed to the event. Did you do it in time?

The party starts at 7pm, meaning free hot dogs, drink specials, and ART BATTLES. See you there.

BOOGIE:

Boogie's one of our favorite photographers-- so we're all super stoked to check out his new show. Check out how raw this guy's work is.
